The Birds Cross Seven Valleys
While at a residency in rural Pennsylvania, I observed the geometric shapes and varied textures created by farm fields in satellite imagery of the landscape.
On a fallow cornfield, I created this circular sculpture out of natural and synthetic materials found nearby: dirt, stones, ash, gravel, bits of roof shingles, live clover, dry corn cobs, black walnuts, pine needles, and cut grass.
